What is Lumnexvideoeditor?
A free online video editor that runs in your web browser. It has a multi-track timeline, transitions, effects, filters, text, stickers, captions and MP4 export for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and Snapchat, with no watermark.
Is it really free? What is the catch?
It is free with no watermark and no paid tier. Because editing runs on your own device there are no server costs; the website is supported by ads on its content pages.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Open the site and start editing. Projects autosave in your browser.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Your files are processed locally in the browser and never sent to our servers.
Which browsers and devices are supported?
Chrome, Edge, Firefox 130+ and Safari 17+ on Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, Android and iPhone. Export uses the browser's built-in video encoder (WebCodecs).
What file formats can I import?
Video files such as MP4, MOV and WebM; audio such as MP3, WAV and M4A; images such as JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF; colour LUTs in .cube format.
What format does it export?
MP4 video with AAC audio (VP9/Opus on browsers without an H.264 encoder), at 720p, 1080p, 4K or any custom size up to 4096 pixels.
Can I make YouTube Shorts, TikToks and Reels?
Yes. Use the 9:16 canvas or the export presets, which produce 1080 × 1920 videos.
Does it have auto captions?
Yes. Captions are generated on your device with the Whisper speech model and support English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Punjabi and other languages. The first use downloads the model.
Can I remove a green screen?
Yes. Select the clip, open Chroma key in the Inspector and pick the background colour.
Can I import my own filters, transitions, effects and stickers?
Yes: .cube LUTs and .json presets for filters, grayscale images for transitions, overlay videos or images for effects, and PNG, WebP or GIF images for stickers.
Can I publish directly to YouTube or Facebook?
Yes, to a YouTube channel or a Facebook Page, once connected in the Export dialog. TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat require approved server apps, so for those the editor prepares the right file for you to upload.
Why is my export slow?
Export speed depends on your device. 4K and long videos take longer; 1080p is fastest for social media.
